Discover Ryanair Airline Baggage Policy

Ryanair Airlines is a low-cost carrier founded in Ireland and has now provided service to everyone by managing flights worldwide. By imposing certain rules, Ryanair laid down many strict regulations on everyone. And it is necessary for everyone to follow it. Ryanair Airline Baggage Policy is so different and prevents people from bringing too much baggage on the flight. In this policy, the clauses are under every section, i.e., checked baggage, carry-on baggage, Ryanair Baggage Fees and excess baggage.

If you want to have information about these aspects as you have a reservation with Ryanair, then make sure you know everything about this policy. Every detail of this policy is highlighted here, so take a deep dive.

Ryanair Carry-on Baggage Policy

It is true that if there is more weight on the flight, then the fuel that is used will be more. And we are all aware that Ryanair is a budgeted airline hence they didn’t allow free carry-on baggage. In this way, they are saving for themselves some pennies.

All the passengers with local tickets are not eligible to bring any carry-on baggage on the flight. They possess the right to bring personal baggage like a laptop bag, small backpack, or purse. 25 cm x 40 cm x 20cm is the maximum size for that personal baggage. If you belong to that segment and have a priority ticket, you can bring one personal and one carry-on baggage. A weight and size restriction for that carry-on baggage is also mentioned, i.e., 10 kg and 55 cm x 40 cm x 20 cm, respectively.

Rules for Carry-on Baggage in Ryanair

A set of rules are there in the case of checked baggage. It comprises the names of items you can bring on a flight in your carry-on baggage. The list is as follows:

  • Clothes

  • Shoes

  • Medicines and medical equipment

  • Products used for personal care

  • Baby carrier and Strollers

  • Alcoholic beverages

  • Coffee maker

  • Hairdryer

You can take the liquid inside the flight but only following the specified guidelines in Ryanair’s Baggage policy. So, these prerequisites are as follows:

  • You are only eligible to have the gels, lotion, and any other type of liquid in the quart-size container as described under the Baggage policy of Ryanair.

  • If you wish that the security check-in process of your baggage gets finished without any hindrance, then make a different small bag for all of these items. And put that bag in your carry-on baggage.

  • Liquids you carry in a container that is bigger than 3.4 ounces and 100 millimeters have to be transported by keeping it in checked luggage.

  • All containers weighing fewer than 3.4 ounces or 100 millimeters are only permitted in carry-on baggage.

Ryanair Airline Checked Baggage Policy

Journey details, fare type, and cabin class are the significant things upon which the allowances of the size and shape of the checked baggage in Ryanair depend. If you are a passenger who will go to travel with Ryanair, then you should satisfy all of these measures:

  • The baggage you are checking in must be paid per piece of baggage basis and for single-way of flights only.

  • The maximum weight of one checked baggage remains 44 pounds or 20 kg.

  • There is no facility for bringing carry-on baggage free of cost. On the spot, you can buy allowances to take 3 checked baggage.

Buying the baggage allowance online and at least one day before the reservation is best. In this way, you must pay less than you paid at the airport while checking in before your flight.

Also, remember that Ryanair Airlines shut up their location of baggage dropping 45 minutes before every flight. So if you booked for the allowances of extra baggage, then make sure that you reached the location on time. If you fail to do so, then there will be no refund will come up from Ryanair as written in their Ryanair Baggage policy.

Per the classes of travel, the number of baggage and the weight limitation differs. So, go through this piece of information as well.

  • If you are traveling in Economy class, you can bring one bag of maximum 50 lbs.
  • If you are traveling in Premium Economy class, you can bring one bag of maximum 50 lbs.
  • If you are traveling in Business class, you can bring two bags of maximum 70 lbs.
  • If you are traveling in First class, you can bring three bags of maximum 70 lbs.

Are you traveling with your baby? Then know that there is no fixed set of rules laid down by Ryanair Airlines. But some random measures are there, and you must satisfy them all in any condition. These rules are as follows:

  • Ryanair Airlines doesn’t permit any infant to fly if they are of age less than seven days.
  • All infants who have their age less than 2 years can fly free with Ryanair as lap babies.
  • There is no privilege for an infant traveling in a lap to have a baggage allowance.
  • If you are making your reservation and planning to travel with your baby, you must mention it earlier when booking.
  • According to Ryanair Baggage policy, all infants must have a guardian who is young and at least 16 age.
  • When an infant passes the age of 2 years, there is a need to purchase a ticket for that one with all the included fares and taxes.
