About Jet Airways
Jet Airways is an Indian international flight service provider recently based in Delhi NCR with a training and repairing centre in Mumbai. Jet Airways is one of the biggest airlines in India with a capacity of 22% travellers market share in February 2016.
It is flown to 700 destinations with 300 flights from its primary flying centre Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport and all secondary airports like Indira Gandhi International Airport, Chennai International Airport, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose International Airport, Kolkata and Kempegowda International Airport, Bengaluru. Jet Airways as a limited liability company has started its operation as an air taxi operator in 1993. It has begun its full-fledged operations in 1995 and attached international flights operations in 2004.
This airline is known publicly in 2005 and 2007 after acquiring Air Sahara. With its competitors, Indigo and SpiceJet with the lowest ticket price, the overall performance of Jet Airways was affected and resulted in financial losses.
This airline has dropped to second place with a passenger 18% market share behind Indigo in 2017. The downfall moves down and resulted in bankruptcy in 2019. Before the establishment of Vistara, it was only the full-service airline of India other than Air India. It has suspended its operation in April 2019 but is assumed to restart early by 2022.

History of Jet Airways Airline
Jet Airways has obtained a scheduled airline status on 14th January 1995. It has entered into the market agreement with KLM in the same year. The airline has received $375 million market value in 1996 with an order of four 737-400 and six 737-800 Boeing aircraft. Jet Airways has carried 2.4 million passengers with a market share of twenty per cent in the financial year 1996-97.
Jet Airways was the first airline in Southeast Asia to order 737-800 Boeing aircraft. By this time, the airline has a fleet of 14 Boeing 737 aircraft and operating to 23 destinations with 83 flights regularly. The Cabinet Committee of Foreign Investment in 1997 declared that no foreign airlines will take an equity stake in joint ventures with Indian airlines and reversed the Government earlier policy that has permitted airlines such as Kuwait Airways, Gulf Air and Lufthansa for holding a maximum of 40% equity stake with Indian partners. In 1997, Naresh Goyal according to Indian new foreign policy ahs has withdrawn control of trade winds from its foreign investors.
Jet Airways has an order of approximately $550 million for 12 Boeing aircraft in Paris Air Show in 1999. Jet Airways has bought its first Boeing 737-400 simulator in 2001. The airline fleet has grown with 40 aircraft and operating over 38 destinations with 200 flights regularly within India by April 2001. Jet Airways has faced its first loss in the financial year 2001-2002 with the rise of cost and fall of demand.
Jet Airways has ordered Embraer 175 worth $520 million in Farnborough Airshow in 2002 for ten aircraft. But the deal was postponed due to the airline financial crisis that has gone down. The Indian government has allowed private airlines to operate international routes to South Asian nations like Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal in 2003. The airline has flown first time in the international route from Chennai to Colombo in 2004.
Resume of Jet Airways
Indian Jet Airways will resume its flights in the first quarter of the financial year 2022-21 with an approved bid from entrepreneur Murari Lal Jalan with an asset management firm Kalrock a part of Fritsch group which is also an investment group founded by Florian Fritsch. Florian Fritsch is a tech entrepreneur and serial real estate developer.
The LCLT has approved the proposal put forward by the Kalrock-Jalan consortium on 22nd June 2021. The NCLT has ordered DGCA and the Ministry of Civil Aviation to book airport slots for Jet Airways in 90 days. Jet Airways-JI with a new version can take full domestic service with a fleet of six aircraft next summer in 2022.
The Airline’s new head office will be located in Delhi NCR. Its earlier office was in Siroya Center in Andheri, Mumbai. Before its resuming, a rented six-storey building at SM Center in Andheri, Mumbai was its previous headquarter. However, it has faced a lot of criticism before its resuming.
